LATEST: Funeral arrangements announced for popular Kildare businessman

The funeral arrangements have been announced for well-known Kildare bar and restaurant owner Vivian Carroll who died on Tuesday.

The Rathangan native operated Judge Roy Beans and Harrigan's Bar & Grill in Newbridge. 

Minister for Agriculture Martin Heydon said: "As a businessman he always looked out for his staff and customers, and worked with other businesses for what was right.

"He was very much community minded and helped so many people quietly and without fuss. His loss will be felt by all who were lucky enough to know him, no more so than by his beloved family.

"We keep you all in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult of times. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam."

Funeral arrangements

Reposing will take place at his residence in Ashgrove, Kildangan (W34 YR88) on Friday from 3pm to 8pm, with prayers at 7pm.

Funeral arrangements will continue on Saturday morning, with removal by Anderson & Leahy Funeral Directors at 10.30am to Our Lady of Victories Church, Kildangan, for 11am Mass, followed by burial in St Evin’s Cemetery, Monasterevin.

Family flowers only are requested.

Donations, if desired, may be made to Pieta House.

Mr Carroll was predeceased by his father Michael and his brother Jason.

He is deeply mourned by his wife Breda and their children Christian, Sadhbh, Elliott and Roan.

He will also be sadly missed by his mother Cecelia, sister Michelle, brother Patrick, mother-in-law Bridie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, friends and his many work colleagues.

Tributes have been paid to Mr Carroll, who was regarded as a devoted family man, a hardworking businessman and a loyal friend, whose loss will be felt widely throughout Co Kildare.
