Kildare native Billy Bohan has been called up to the Ireland squad for the Guinness Six Nations after Jack Boyle was ruled out due to injury. The Connacht player was one of several enforced changes to the travelling party ahead of Ireland's pre-tournament training camp in Portugal.

Boyle sustained a leg injury during Leinster’s derby win in Galway meaning the uncapped prop will join the training camp in Quinta do Lago.

The Newbridge College graduate, who is in the Connacht Academy, featured for Ireland in last season’s U20 Six Nations Championship and World Rugby U20 Championship.

Other squad changes include Bundee Aki being replaced in the Ireland squad following a ‘misconduct complaint’ with Ulster’s uncapped centre Jude Postlethwaite being added to the panel. Aki faces complaint arising from allegedly engaging with match officials after Connacht’s loss to Leinster.

Tom Ahern has been replaced by Cormac Izuchukwu, while Robert Baloucoune will continue to be assessed after being withdrawn at half-time during Ulster’s defeat away to the Scarlets.

Ireland launch their Guinness Men’s Six Nations campaign away to France on Thursday, February 5 with kick-off at 8:10pm Irish time.
