A new pharmacy located near a busy County Kildare supermarket is preparing to host its official opening event.

McCartan's Pharmacy, which recently opened up in Dunnes Stores Shopping Centre in Newbridge, took to social media to announce the opening celebrations.

According to McCartan's Pharmacy: "Over the past few weeks, we’ve been settling in [in Newbridge] and getting to know some lovely new faces, and we really appreciate everyone who has popped in and shown us amazing support."

The premises also said that it wants to show its appreciation "to everyone" and to "really introduce" itself to the people of Newbridge.

McCartan's Pharmacy explained: "We are going to be handing out some goodie bags, as well as special discounts on selected products!

"After every purchase, the person will be automatically entered into a draw to win a hamper!

"We will be announcing the winners of our First Aid Kit giveaway too on the Sunday, using a Spin the Wheel!"

McCartan's Pharmacy added: "We would love everyone to pop in, even just to say hello and get to know us! We’re so happy to be apart of the Newbridge Community."

The official opening event will take place inside McCartan's Pharmacy this Friday, January 30, 2026. It will begin at 9.30am.

McCartan's Pharmacy was established by Brian McCartan back in 2000 and has 13 branches (including its new Newbridge premises) located in four different counties.

It is open seven days a week.
