Yesterday (Thursday, January 22), a motorist in Naas, Co Kildare parked in a live lane of traffic, blocking the lane for a period of time and causing disruption to other road users.
Naas Gardaí responded, located the driver, issued a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice (FCPN) and instructed the vehicle to be moved.
Naas Gardaí would like to remind motorists that parking in a live traffic lane is dangerous, causes unnecessary congestion, and puts other road users at risk.
A garda spokesperson said: “Choosing a safe and legal parking space should not be rocket science — it’s simply a matter of common sense.
“Use designated parking. Park legally and safely. Do not block live traffic lanes.
“Let’s all do our part to keep Naas moving safely and smoothly.”
