The construction of three brand-new tennis courts is being sought for one County Kildare town.
A planning application that is currently with Kildare County Council (KCC) shows that the Trustees of Naas Lawn Tennis Club intend to construct the courts on the grounds of Naas Lawn Tennis Club in Oldtown, Naas.
Specifically, the Trustees are seeking planning permission from KCC in order to construct a tennis court with an artificial grass surface on the existing lawn in front of the clubhouses.
This new court would also be complete with 0.9 metres and 2.5m high fencing to the perimeter of the court, along with 10m high lighting posts with LED lighting.
In addition, the Trustees want to construct "two mini tennis courts", complete with an artificial grass surface, on the existing lawn to the west of Court Six, complete with 1.2m high fencing and 6m high lighting posts with LED lighting.
The date received on the application is listed as January 20 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as February 23, 2026 and March 16, 2026.
According to the official website for Naas Lawn Tennis Club, its grounds are open from 9am to 11.30pm on Monday and Friday, and from 9am to 9pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Its main sponsors are Caremark, Komandor and Audi.
