Plans have been granted for a new €2.9 million neighbourhood centre at Piercetown, Station Road, Newbridge, Co. Kildare.
The development will include a mix of retail, food and medical services across a single and two-storey building on a previously approved site.
At ground floor level, the centre will feature a convenience store with an off-licence, coffee shop, delicatessen and customer toilets. Three additional retail units and a takeaway outlet are also planned for the ground floor.
The first floor will accommodate two medical units and two further retail units, providing space for healthcare and local services.
The project also includes car parking, new site access points, boundary treatments, signage, bin storage and landscaped areas.
The development will cover a floor area of approximately 1,530 square metres on a 0.37-hectare site.
Planning permission was granted on January 8, 2026, following an application submitted in June 2025. The project is being delivered as a private new-build commercial and retail development.
Once completed, the neighbourhood centre is expected to provide a range of local amenities and services for residents in the Piercetown and Newbridge area, as well as supporting local employment during construction and operation.
