Caragh's Darragh Swords was the sole Kildare starter in Dublin City Universities (DCU) 3-13 to 0-8 win over Ulster University in Sigerson Cup Round One.
The forward also top-scored for his county in their 2-12 to 0-8 win over Wexford in the O'Byrne Cup over the weekend and will likely be a major part of Brian Flanagan's plans headed into 2026.
Swords lined out at wing-forward as the defending champions got their Sigerson Cup defence off to the perfect start with a comfortable victory. Elsewhere MTU Kerry and TUD also picked up wins on the opening night of the competition.
Alongside Swords, DCU have five more Kildare faces in their panel with Colm Dalton, Dara Crowley, Jack McKevitt, Niall Dolan and Ryan Sinkey all involved.
