The court heard that he had been ejected from  a pub.

He was extremely upset and aggressive towards members of the public and gardaí and he was arrested at 6.30pm.

Barrister Donncha Craddock said the defendant was upset about something that was said and he took offence because he felt it had a racial connotation.

He said the defendant has been in Ireland since he was two.

Mr Craddock also said the defendant had finished his exams at Maynooth University where he was studying Constitutional Law. He said he went out after the exams ended.

Mr Craddock said the defendant was physically grabbed by a bar staff member after he’d been asked to leave.
