Seven people were treated on trolleys at Naas Hospital today, having been admitted through the accident and emergency department.
But the most overcrowded facility in the eastern region was St Vincent's Hospital where there were 26 patients on trolleys.
There were no patients on trolleys at Tullamore Hospital and the figure for Portlaoise was five.
