As preparations were underway to launch the annual Christmas Road Safety Campaign, An Garda Síochána Kildare/Carlow arrested five motorists last night (December 30) for drink driving.
A garda spokesperson commented: “This behaviour is dangerous, irresponsible, and completely unacceptable. Drink Driving Kills — plain and simple.
Never risk it. These five drivers did — and today, they wish they hadn’t.”
Those arrested now face serious consequences:
• Up to four years’ disqualification
• A €5,000 fine
• Up to six months in prison
