Plans to provide extra links to Kildare greenway

However a number of bodies need to agree on it

There are plans to connect the existing Naas-Sallins Greenway to the Newbridge Road in Naas and to Sallins.

According to Kildare County Council engineer Dónal Hodgins the plan needs agreement between KCC, Waterways Ireland and the National Transport Authority.

Cllr Bill Clear said there should be links to places like the De Burgh Gardens and St Mary's College in Naas and an extension to Sallins.

He said the work should incorporate an upgrade of the existing path from Abbey Bridge to the Naas Sports Centre “ensuring it meets modern accessibility and safety standards, encouraging active travel, supporting tourism, and providing a safer, greener connection for commuters, families, and recreational users alike.”
