Only 2% of homes owned by the county council in Kildare are empty

Just 2.1% of homes owned by Kildare County Council are vacant, up to November.

KCC manages 6,822 residential properties and 132 of these need to be refurbished.

A total of 11 properties are ready to be given to tenants.

Most of the vacant properties are in Naas (20) followed by Newbridge (18); Clane (11); Sallins and Kildare town (eight each); Leixlip, Prosperous and Kilcullen (six); Athy and Kilcock (five each).

There are four empty homes in Celbridge as well as four each in Robertstown and Castledermot.

Kilmeague and Kill have three each followed by Narraghmore, Monasterevin, Coill Dubh, Kildangan, Rathangan, Maynooth (two each).

Ballitore, Ballyroe, Calverstown, Kilmead, Carbury, Carragh, Curragh, Ballymore Eustace and Punchestown have a single vacant property each.
