While on patrol in Kildare, Student Garda Kelly from Naas Gardaí observed a delivery van parked in a disabled parking bay, hazard lights flashing as if that made it acceptable.

A message from An Garda Síochána Kildare stated: “Disabled bays exist for those who genuinely need them — not for convenience, not for 'just a minute', and not for anyone who thinks the rules don’t apply to them.

“If you take a space meant for someone with mobility needs, expect to be held accountable.”

A €150 Fixed Charge Penalty Notice was issued to the driver.
