Naas Roads Policing were on patrol in Monasterevin, Kildare when an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) alert flagged a vehicle with a litany of driving offences.

The driver immediately tried to avoid detection, but officers quickly tracked him down, hiding in the lobby of an apartment block.

The driver was an unaccompanied learner driver, who had no insurance, no tax, no NCT, and a bald front tyre on his vehicle.

The vehicle was seized on the spot.

The driver now faces a court appearance for no insurance, with Fixed Charge Penalty Notices issued for the remaining offences.

An Garda Síochána Kildare issues a stark reminder: “If you take chances on the road, you will be found — and you will face the consequences.”
