A €2.5 million film and television studio development is being proposed within the curtilage of Killadoon House, Celbridge, Co. Kildare.

The plans (see design image above) include the construction of a 12-metre-high, 1,713 sq m demountable studio building on the grounds of Killadoon Farm. The application also seeks permission for the temporary installation of five single-storey portable office and ancillary buildings, ranging in size from 52 sq m to 122 sq m, and including welfare facilities such as toilets and showers.
The development would include a surface-water attenuation basin, raingarden, interceptor traps, and underground foul and fresh-water holding tanks. Internal access routes are proposed as compacted gravel roads, alongside an “I-trac” heavy-duty loading bay for production vehicles.

Parking provision includes 46 spaces, three of which will be accessible, all set on permeable, removable Grass-crete surfacing. The scheme also provides for 68 bicycle spaces fitted with Sheffield stands.
Vehicular access would be via the existing entrance at the north-west boundary of Killadoon Farm off the N403, with pedestrian and bicycle access through the east gate on Killadoon Lane.
The project has been designed by Cathal O’Neill Architects.
