A person who works at a well-known County Kildare hotel worker was approached by male in possession of an offensive weapon earlier this week.
Garda John Joe O'Connell gave details about the incident when he appeared as a guest on a KFM radio programme, which aired yesterday (November 5 last).
He explained that on the evening of Tuesday, November 4 last, three males were seen trying to break into cars in the underground car park of the Osprey Hotel in Naas.
When a staff member approached the men, one of the men produced a knife, although no one was injured during the incident.
Gda O'Connell also said that all three men were seen wearing medical facemasks while they were in the car park; he also said that the first male was seen wearing a grey tracksuit, the second wore a black tracksuit, and the third male wore a blue jacket with a hood.

He added that the men had been seen "trying [to break into] cars" in Naas town earlier that day.
Gda O'Connell further said that gardaí have taken interest in one vehicle in relation to this crime: a silver Peugeot 508 car with the following registration plate: 'KP10 SUU'.
He emphasised to listeners: "Any of sign of that [vehicle], do not approach, please report it to Naas gardaí [on 045 884 300]."
FURTHER DEVELOPMENT
KFM also reported earlier today (November 6) the vehicle mentioned by Gda O'Connell was spotted in the Newcastle region of County Dublin last night.
The station also included a brief video clip which appeared to show the vehicle.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident at the Osprey Hotel, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí received a report of a male in possession of an offensive weapon in the Devoy Quarter area of Naas, County Kildare at approximately 9.55pm on Tuesday, November 4 last."
The spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing.
