A number of online tributes have been paid to a late County Kildare resident.
Jim Mooney, late of Allenwood South, Allenwood and formerly of Blackwood, Coill Dubh, passed away on November 3 last.
One person who paid tribute to the late Jim Mooney via RIP.ie , Trish Nyland of Maynooth, had this to say about him: "It is with great sadness to hear that Jim has passed.
"I extend my deepest sympathy to Johnny, Chloe, Jenny, Stephen and his three adored grandchildren, also to the extended Mooney and Gorey families on the loss of Jim.
"You were always guaranteed a good laugh when you met Jim and I always enjoyed his banter."
She concluded: "May he be reunited with his beloved Dympna and may they be resting peacefully together again."
One couple, Pa and Marie Geraghty, said: "Johnny, Chloe and the extended Mooney family.
"So sorry to hear about the passing of Jim. May he rest in peace.
"He was an absolute gentleman who took on everything that he did with wholehearted energy."
They concluded: "This world is a poorer place without him; RIP JIM."
Another couple, Kevin and Rose Reilly, said about the late Jim Mooney: "A great character and friend.
"Nothing but wonderful memories of him every time we met."
The pair added that the late Jim Mooney "could make any situation better".
In addition, Allenwood GFC paid tribute to Jim's life via a lengthy statement posted to its official Facebook page: "Our club would like to offer its sincerest sympathies to the Mooney family on the sad passing of Jim, a little over a year after the sudden passing of his beloved wife, Dympna.
"While not active in recent years, Jim had once been a very active coach at underage level, helping to develop several players who went on to represent the Blues at adult level.
"He was active with both Allenwood and Na Fianna, now Aylmer Gaels, and will also be very fondly remembered by all in Ballyteague, having also worked as a caretaker there for several years.
"Our thoughts are with his son Johnny and daughter Chloe, their partners Jenny and Stephen, his grandchildren Katie, Christopher and Tommy, brothers Jack and Joe, sister Imelda, extended family and a very large circle of friends, who all enjoyed the chats and stories with him.
"The club has always been important to the Mooney family with Jim's son Johnny having played second team football for the Blues and back involved this year with our Dads and Lads team."
Allenwood GFC concluded: "May Jim now rest in peace, reunited with his beloved Dympna."
