Works begin on €459k convent extension in this Kildare town

Works have begun on a €459k convent extension in Maynooth, Co Kildare.

According to Construction Information Services (CIS), a decision to grant planning permission was issued by Kildare County Council on 7/5/2024 to Society of the Divineword.

The address of the property is Divine Word Missionaries, Moyglare Road, Maynooth, Co Kildare.

CIS has listed the start date as October 17 2025 with an anticipated finish date of June 26 2026 (eight months.)

The proposed works include:

  1. construction of a three storey residential extension to the existing rectory, the extension will to provide five rectory bedrooms and one rectory foyer space.

  2. connection to existing services.

  3. all associated site works.

The site area is 1.4ha.

The architect for the project is Joseph Mackey Architects, and the main contractor is Fingleton Ventures Limited.
