A sports club based in County Kildare intends to change the layout of its rugby pitches.

North Kildare Sports Club is seeking planning permission from Kildare County Council (KCC) to make the changes to the pitches, which are located in The Maws region of Kilcock.

According to the description within the application, the club wants to reorientate the two existing natural grass rugby pitches within its grounds.

"As part of this development, the existing floodlighting infrastructure will be reorientated, upgraded, and aligned with the new pitch layout," the application notes. "In addition, it is proposed to install new floodlighting on the main rugby pitch to achieve lux levels suitable for evening training and competitive nighttime matches."

The date received on the application is listed as October 21 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as November 24, 2025 and December 15, 2025 respectively.

The official website for North Kildare Sports Club says that the club was established in 1928.

The organisation covers a variety of sporting activities, including rugby, bowls, cricket, bridge, hockey and tennis.
