Kildare bank holiday driver caught with multiple driving offences

As part of An Garda Síochána Kildare's October Bank Holiday Road Safety Campaign, Naas Roads Policing Unit (#NaasRPU) stopped a car on the M4 on Friday night (October 23 2025.)

Gardaí discovered that the driver:

  • Had no insurance

  • Was an unaccompanied learner driver

  • Had no L plates displayed

  • Failed a roadside drugs test

The driver was arrested, and their vehicle was seized.

A message from An Garda Síochána Kildare stated:

We’re out in force this Bank Holiday weekend — please heed our message:

  • Slow down

  • Wear your seatbelt- Stay off your phone

  • Stay within the speed limit

  • Never drive under the influence of drink or drugs

It’s never worth the risk. Stay safe and make it home.”
