Cllrs observe minute of silence for late Kildare County Council worker

Rest In Peace: Orla Wilson (ABOVE) was laid to rest on Friday, October 17 last

A minute of silence was observed by councillors at a recent Kildare County Council (KCC) meeting, in memory of a late KCC employee.

The moment of remembrance related to the late Orla Wilson, who tragically died following an accidental house fire on Saturday, October 11 last.

At the latest Athy Municipal District (MD) meeting, which took place on Monday, October 20 last, the Mayor of the MD, Fine Gael Cllr Ivan Keatley, paid tribute to the late Kildangan resident.

He told those in attendance that the late Ms Wilson "was a valued member of staff" at KCC.

Mayor Keatley also referred to her as a "bright spark" who was "always smiling".

Following his comments, the councillors who were present at the meeting were asked by Mayor Keatley to observe a minute’s silence in memory of the late Ms Wilson.

All members complied with his request.
