Kildare County Council has been asked how it is recording the amount of time we spent cycling.
Independent councillor Bill Clear wants KCC to outline “how it is monitoring changes in cycling levels throughout the county.”

He also wants to know what progress has been made toward its County Development Plan targets.
These aim for a 20% increase in cycling to work and a 15% increase in cycling to school by 2029.
He also said time is ticking on plans for Ireland to meet “to meet its legally binding target of a 51% reduction in carbon emissions."
He noted the Climate Change Advisory Council's has warned that the transport sector is increasingly unlikely to meet its targets.
