Jail threat hangs over man who pleaded guilty to Kildare GAA club assault

A man appeared before Naas District Court after sending two letters to his ex-partner.

Garda Shauna Hough told the court that the defendant was charged on August 21 for an alleged breach of a protection order by sending the letters.

The court was told that a letter was sent to the injured party while the defendant was in custody for a previous alleged breach.

Solicitor David Powderly told the court that the letters amounted to an apology or clarification of the issue.

Judge Miriam Walsh adjourned the matter for a fuller hearing.
