A planning application has been made for a new all-weather training pitch with all-weather lighting for Coill Dubh Hurling Club, Blackwood, Brockagh and Cooleragh West Townlands, Coill Dubh, Co. Kildare.
According to Construction Information Services (CIS), a planning application was submitted to Kildare County Council on October 12 2025 for consideration.
The plans, which include other works, are estimated to cost €400k.

The scheme comprises:
Permission for the relocation of existing main hurling pitch;
New all-weather lighting with 6 no 22m high lights around main pitch;
New all weather training pitch with two no. new hurling walls (two) with six 9m all weather lights;
Access road and entrance from (via Brockagh Road) and all associated site works.
The site area is 3.15ha, and the architect for the plans is Whyte Planning Consultants Limited.
