A first responders group which operates in County Kildare has issued an important notice relating to an out-of-service defibrillator.

Newbridge Community First Responders issued the following announcement on social media: "The AED [Automated External Defibrillator] at Ryan’s Field is currently out of service.

"In the event of an emergency, please locate the next nearest AED — you can easily find public access defibrillators by searching 'AED near me' on Google Maps."

The group added: "Thank you for your understanding as we work to have this unit back in use as soon as possible."
