Gardaí are currently investigating a criminal damage by fire incident in Kildare town.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí responded to an incident of criminal damage to a car by fire that occurred at approximately 10.50pm on Monday, October 13 last in the Bishopsland area of Kildare town.

"No injuries were reported."

They added: "Investigations are ongoing at this time."
