Information sought about accidents at dangerous crossroads near Kildare racecourse

A request has been made for information about reported accidents at a dangerous road junction.

Kildare County Council has been requested to provide statistics on the number of reported accidents at Beggars
End, Naas over the past eight years by Cllr Fintan Brett.

He said previously that  roundabout needs to be built on a road that has been the scene of multiple motor accidents.

The intersection on the Naas-Blessington route has five junctions and the councillor has made many calls for safety to be improved there.

“Not a week goes by that I don’t get a call about it,” he told a Naas Municipal District committee meeting earlier this year.

He said there is room for a roundabout to be built in the Punchestown Racecourse side of the road which would alleviate the problem.
