Irish Rail / Iarnród Éireann has suspended services between Portarlington and Monasterevin following a bridge collision.
Explaining the suspension on X, the official Irish Rail account said: "Report that a vehicle has struck a bridge near Monasterevin.
"14.28 Portlaoise to Heuston held in Portarlington.
"A crew is en route to complete an inspection of the bridge."
The account added: "Update to follow."
