The Curragh Racecourse in Co
Kildare is hosting Day 2 of The Irish Champions Festival on Sunday, 14th September 2025.
Jeanni Mulder, fiancée of Greg O’Shea will help judge the style competition.
The day features four Group 1 races and nearly €2.5 million in prize money, with the Comer Group International Irish St Leger taking centre stage as the fifth and final Irish Classic of the year.
Bar One Racing Flying Five and two of the best juvenile races of the year, the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes and the Moyglare Stud Stakes will also be featured on the day. Irish Champions Festival will again attract many of the world’s best racehorses, owners, trainers and jockeys.
Off the track, fashion will be in full bloom with the Rosé & Runway Event sponsored by Whispering Angel. Themed “a hint of blush,” the style competition will be judged by Naomi Clarke, aka The Style Fairy, alongside stylist, TV personality Marietta Doran and Jeanni Mulder, fiancée of Greg O’Shea who will accompany Jeanni on the day.
One lucky winner will walk away with a luxury hotel experience and a magnum of Whispering Angel Rosé. Naomi Clarke shared her excitement ahead of the event, saying, “I can't wait to see the style at The Curragh for Day 2 of the Irish Champions Festival. I'm sure it will be a tough decision to find just one winner and I’m really looking forward to seeing how the theme “a hint of blush” is incorporated by everyone.”
Marietta Doran added, “it’s the last classic day at The Curragh and fashion will take centre stage yet again off the track. Irish racing style has been stunning throughout 2025 and I’m looking forward to the final fashion date at The Curragh for this year.”
Jeanni added “Irish horse racing is world class, so to get the chance to witness some of the best that's out there at Irish Champions Festival is something I’m really excited about – and the style of course, which is just as exciting as the action on the track! I can’t wait to see the incredible fashion on show this year. It’s going to be a feast for both the racing fans and the style lovers!”
Fun For All the Family Both on and off the Track
Families are also in for a treat with the return of the Carnival at The Curragh and The Moyglare Kids Zone, featuring stilt walkers, magic shows, bumper carz, carousels, face painting and much more.
There will also be access to Irish Racing’s only permanent sensory room for children of all needs, who require a quiet break during the day. Racegoers can also experience the thrill of flat racing directly through a new VR experience, stepping into the saddle and competing with friends to see who crosses the finish line first.
Robbie Irwin will be in the Champions Hall for live chats with leading jockeys and trainers throughout the day so racegoers can enjoy expert race previews and insider stories from racing’s biggest names.
Live music will fill the racecourse with Ceili Cottage greeting guests at the entrance, fiddle player Nicole Lonergan will roam the grounds, and the Rolling Tones Vinyl Van will entertain in the Paddock Bar. Between races, the Rambling Rovers will perform in Lilywhites Lounge, which is becoming a firm favourite with regular attendees at The Curragh and includes great views of the track.
Adding to the excitement, racing fans will have the chance to bid farewell to the legendary Kyprios, who will make one final appearance in the Parade Ring following his retirement earlier this year. Bred at Moyglare Stud, the Aidan O’Brien-trained star has 17 wins from 21 starts.
His standout victories include Irish St. Leger wins at the Curragh in 2022 and 2024 with Ryan Moore in the saddle—cementing his legacy as a once-in-a-generation stayer. Kyprios leaves behind a legacy of brilliance and it will be a treat for visitors to see the legend one more time at The Curragh.
Gates open at 11.00am with the first race starting at 1.30pm. Complimentary raceday bus services will run from Kildare, Newbridge, and Naas. For full transport details, visit www.curragh.ie/plan-your-visit/how-to-get-here/ and click the bus icon.
