A reminder has been issued to farmers by Kildare County Council (KCC) relating to the upcoming closed season for chemical fertilisers.
KCC said today (September 4): "As the closed season approaches, KCC would like to remind farmers that the application of chemical fertilisers to land is prohibited between September 15, 2025 and January 26, 2026.
"This is a key measure under the GAP Regulations to protect water quality and to prevent pollution," KCC added.
