Newly built footpath kerbs 'need to be safer' in this Kildare town

Newly created footpath kerbs need to be made more visible in Naas.

Kildare County Council has been asked to tackle the issue by a number of councillors.

Independent councillor Bill Clear said the issue needs to be addressed given the level of pedestrian traffic in the area “particularly among older people.”

He wants KCC to make the Kilcullen Road safe “by painting the raised kerbs in a more visible colour and providing for the installation of a zebra crossing from Swans premises to the nearby SuperValu outlet."

Separately, five more councillors - Anne Breen, Evie Sammon, Ger Dunne, Seamie Moore and Carmel Kelly - want KCC to come up with ”options to improve visibility of the raised kerbs on the Kilcullen Road."
