The late Thomas (TC) Martin (RIP)
A number of tributes have been paid to a County Kildare man who previously served in the Defence Forces.
Thomas TC Martin, Retd Cavalry Corps, passed away peacefully, August 27, 2025, at Naas Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
One user who posted a message of condolence on RIP.ie (Bernie Kelly, Department of Defence) had this to say about the late Thomas: "My heartfelt condolences to TC's wife Martina daughter Serena, son Garry and all the Martin Family at this sad and difficult time.
"TC was a gentleman and may he rest in peace."
Another user (Mick Whelan, 2 Batt) said: "It’s with deepest sadness, I offer my condolences to Martina and family, on the passing of TC.
"A gentleman and fine soldier; Rest In Peace old comrade."
In addition, one user (John Andrews, Trim, Ex Modus Media) said about the late Thomas: "Condolences to TC’s family and friends.
"One of the very best man anybody could meet during your life.
"Rest in Peace TC; Good Man!"
Lastly, a user named James McGowan said: "I don’t think I’ve ever heard a bad word said about you.
"Anyone you met you had the best of time for, and it shows with the amount of people saddened by your passing.
"You are an example of how life should be lived: work hard and play hard.
"You’ll be missed by everyone who knew you; condolences to your wife Martina who you adored, also Serena and Garry and your grandchildren. Your memory will live long among them.
"Rest in Heaven TC (The Best)."

Peacefully, August 27, 2025, at Naas Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Sadly missed by his loving wife Martina (Val), daughter Serena, son Garry, grandchildren Devon and Gracie, Garry's partner Christine, brother Pat, sisters Hazel and Karen, brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.
May TC Rest In Peace.
Reposing at Glennons Funeral Home, 32 Main Street, Newbridge from 4pm on Friday (August 29) concluding with Rosary at 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning to arrive at St Brigids Church, The Curragh for Requiem Mass at 11am.
Burial afterwards in St Conleths Cemetery, Newbridge.
