Planning permission has been refused for a €5.2m housing development in Athy, Co Kildare.
According to Construction Information Services (CIS), application number 2460780 – first lodged by Sayvale Limited on August 12 2024 – has been refused.
The proposed location of the development is addressed at Geraldine Road, Athy R14 FY99, Co Kildare.
The development consisted of the construction of 32 homes, comprising of 6 1-bed units; 14 2-bed units and 12 3-bed units all of 2-storey construction.

The plans also provided for the provision of a new vehicular and pedestrian access to the site from Geraldine Road, as well as the provision of a foul pumping station.
All ancillary site and landscaping works necessary to complete the development were also included.
The architect for the project was Meitheal Design Partners Architects.
CIS noted: “Application number 2460780 has been refused. We will continue to monitor the Local Authority to establish if a new planning application has been submitted or if an appeal has been lodged.”
