Cllr Fintan Brett told a Naas Municipal District committee meeting that they should be provided on to Kilteel village and “especially adjacent to the Punchestown Upper road.
“There have been a few near accidents,” he said, adding that the existing signs are being ignored.
According to Kildare County Council it is carrying out a significant amount of road works in and around the Kilteel area.
Additional road lining has been included in the ongoing works but “due to limited funding and resources, variable speed message signs cannot be accommodated at this time.”
