County Kildare spot Castletown House is set to reopen to visitors soon, according to the Office of Public Works (OPW).
For just under two years, Castletown House has been a source of contention, ever since the M4 access point was closed to pedestrians by a private developer back in September 2023.
Since then, locals have been working to resolve the issues associated with access to Castletown.
Now, the OPW said in a statement released today (July 4): "The OPW is delighted to announce the re-opening of Castletown House to visitors with effect from Monday next, July 7, 2025.
"Following on from constructive dialogue with elected representatives from Kildare North and Celbridge-Leixlip Municipal District, An Garda Siochána and the local community groups, progress has been made in relation to the access of essential service vehicles.
"As a result, the OPW is pleased to announce a return to dawn to dusk hours for the Parklands and the House reopening to the public once more for guided tours."

The OPW continued: "This is positive progress in re-establishing the great facilities and amenities that Castletown House and Parklands have provided in the past.
"Information concerning the tours, times, and tickets are available on www.castletown.ie."
The organisation also said: "We must remind visitors that there will be no general visitor parking for Castletown House, at this time.
"Visitors should use public transport or active travel, such as walking or cycling, to visit Castletown House and Estate.
The OPW also pointed out: "There are limited accessible parking spaces available in front of the House, which can be accessed via Lime Avenue. Further details on how to travel to Castletown is available on Travel to Castletown."
"The Castletown Parklands will open from dawn till dusk for visitors."
Lastly, the OPW said: "Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead, and away from the lake area."
