A probe has been launched by An Garda Síochána (AGS) after a vehicle was stolen from a region in South Kildare.

The incident was detailed by Garda Ann-Marie Reilly of Naas Garda Station, who appeared on a KFM radio programme on the morning of Wednesday, July 2 last.

She explained that the crime took place in the Coney Park region of Athy on Friday, June 27 last.

Gda Reilly told host Eoin Beatty that the theft took place between 4am and 9am, and added that the vehicle stolen was a Toyota Vitz Hatchback car.

She also read out the registration plate of the stolen car: '141-D-50729'.

Gda Reilly concluded by urging anyone with information to contact Athy Garda Station on 059 863 4210.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a spokesperson for AGS replied: "Gardaí received report of the theft of a car that occurred on the morning of Friday, June 27, 2025 in the Coneyboro area of Athy, County Kildare.

They added: "Investigations are ongoing."
