A bike was stolen from a sports premises in Kildare town over the weekend.

According to a post on the 'Kildare Town Residents Community Forum' on Facebook, the stolen bike belonged to an 11-year-old child and was allegedly stolen by a group of youths.

The original poster also claimed that the youths damaged the lock which was on the bike.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí received a report of the theft of a bike that occurred at on the evening of Saturday, June 28, 2025 at a premises in Kildare town."

They added: "Investigations are ongoing."
