A councillor representing the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District (MD) asked Kildare County Council (KCC) about the delivery of a proposed community centre.
Fianna Fáil Cllr Suzanne Doyle submitted the question to KCC at the latest MD meeting, which took place on Wednesday, June 18 last.
Specifically, she asked KCC to provide "a report on potential avenues to delivery of a community centre on Dunmurray Road, Kildare (ref site with planning), and indications of possible timelines".
In response, KCC told Cllr Doyle via the report it presented at the meeting: "A provision for the development of a community centre on the Dunmurray Road in Kildare has been included in the current Capital Programme."
KCC added: "The community team, along with the capital team, is currently investigating various options to work with the local community organisation to deliver a centre at the site, including alternative building delivery techniques."
