Camera club in Kildare celebrates 40 years with exhibition
To celebrate Celbridge Camera Club's 40th anniversary, members’ images have been displayed in shop windows throughout Celbridge in Co Kildare.
The Annual Exhibition will take place at Celbridge Library from 13th to 20th June, and the public is invited along during library opening hours.
Celbridge Camera Club was established in February 1985. The Club now spans five decades and two centuries and has witnessed some amazing advances in photographic technology not least of which being the introduction in the early 2000s of digital photography.

The club has had many different homes over the years.
Initially, the Club met in De Paul House which belonged to the Salesian Fathers, 1986 they moved to the Setanta House Hotel, next home was at Scoil Mochua where one of the members was the Principal.
They got lucky in 1989 and found their forever home – Slip Hall - and have been there now for 36 years.
The club has produced two books, both photographic records of Celbridge one in 1990 and the latest in 2021 called Celbridge - A Photographic Record.
Each features a wide range of photographs by club members as well as archive material collected for the project.
While competitions at club and national levels are an exciting part of what they do, at their core, Celbridge Camera Club is about community.
It's a place to learn, grow, and make friends—a spirit that’s defined them for the past 40 years and will guide them into the future.
