A court was told almost €40,000 worth of drugs were discovered in a car that was stopped for speeding on the M7.
Alex O’Rourke Williams (20) of Mountain Park, Tallaght, Dublin 24, appeared before Portlaoise District Court charged with possession of drugs. He is accused of having drugs for sale or supply on the M7 at Great Heath, Portlaoise June 11, 2025.

“A large quantity of suspected drugs were found in the vehicle,” he explained. He estimated the value at €39,000.
