Kildare County Council and Kildare Local Community Development Committee have announced the successful applicants under the Local Enhancement Programme 2025 (LEP).
Funding of €198,448 will be awarded to 49 community/voluntary groups to support capital and equipment costs and €37,191 will be awarded to 51 groups to support running costs.
Three of the groups being funded today are:
Athy Community & Family Centre T/A Athy Happy Days Community Childcare will receive €9,780 to support development of an outdoor play area and €1,000 to support running costs.
Kildare Town Community and Family Resource Centre will receive €6,128 towards the purchase of furniture and €1,000 to support running costs.
Johnstownbridge Men’s Shed will receive €1,000 to support running costs.
LEP is funded through the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht. It aims to support community groups, organisations and centres located in areas of disadvantage and/or with a clear remit to provide services to the most socially excluded.
