A men's mental health advocate and writing coach is set to launch his latest book in a store located on the Kildare-Wicklow border.

'The Power of the Written Word' is the ninth (and fourth published) book by Carl J Ashley, who is the founder of Write Coach Ireland.

With his latest literary outing, the Tipperary-based author intends to help those who wish to begin their own writing journey.

Speaking about his latest book, Ashley said on his official website: "Everyone has a story to share. Do you feel the time is right to tell yours?

"Storytelling, or scéalaíocht, has deep roots in Irish culture, weaving together personal experience, mythical history, and traditional values. It’s an overlooked but vital aspect of our social fabric.

He continued: "Have you ever wanted to write your own book but didn’t know where to start?

"The idea can feel overwhelming or daunting, and filled with questions and potential roadblocks. Common challenges like self-sabotage, procrastination, and imposter syndrome often stand in the way.

"Facing and moving beyond these obstacles is a powerful part of healing through writing. Looking at your experiences honestly, and reflecting with authenticity and accountability, brings clarity and transformation.

"Writing your story is more than just putting words on a page; it’s about owning your journey and stepping into personal authority."

Ashley concluded his speech by asking: "Do you have the courage to share your truth? If the answer is yes, this book is for you."

'The Power of the Written Word' by Carl J Ashley will be launched at An Siopa Bhaile in Blessington on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 7pm.

The event will be free of charge, and tea and coffee will be provided.
