Athletics club in south Kildare launches major fundraising drive

A state-of-the-art indoor training facility and clubhouse is planned

Crookstown Millview Athletic Club in south Kildare is seeking support to bring an ambitious dream to life—a state-of-the-art indoor training facility and clubhouse designed to serve athletes and the wider community alike.

The proposed development will feature a long jump and triple jump area, modern studio spaces, and dedicated meeting rooms. The outer appearance and layout are already planned to seamlessly integrate into the club’s existing grounds.

This new facility aims to transform the training environment for local athletes by providing year-round access, regardless of weather.

It also promises to significantly enhance athlete performance and development, particularly valuable in rural areas where such resources are limited.

Additionally, it will serve as a hub for community activity, offering workshops, classes, and meeting spaces.

Fundraising is already underway, with a successful primary school disco raising over €1,675 and a Give 2 You campaign hitting €1,000.

The club is also offering advertising space along the track fence to local businesses at €1,000 per sign.

More support is needed to reach the target of €100,000.

People can help by donating through the club’s online link on Facebook, sharing the campaign on social media, or spreading the word to friends and family. Both private and corporate sponsorships are welcome.

The club expressed heartfelt thanks to all who have contributed so far, especially local businesses and young athletes
leading fundraising efforts.
