Members of An Garda Síochána (AGS) are investigating after an e-scooter was stolen from the premises of a shopping centre located in North Kildare.

Details of the theft were revealed by Garda David Prendergast of Naas Garda Station when he appeared on a KFM radio programme on Wednesday, May 14 last.

He told host Tara Flanagan that the crime took place between 4.50pm and 5pm on Wednesday, May 7 last in Maynooth.

Gda Prendergast added that the e-scooter, which is black in colour, was stolen at the Dunnes Stores outlet located in the Manor Mills Shopping Centre.

In addition, he noted that the lock on the e-scooter was "removed, but undamaged".

Gda Prendergast concluded by urging anyone with information about this incident to contact Maynooth Garda Station on 01 629 2380.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about the crime, a spokesperson for AGS responded: "Gardaí received a report of an incident of theft that occurred at approximately 5pm on May 7, 2025 in the Manor Mills area of Maynooth, County Kildare.

"An e-scooter was taken in the course of this incident."

"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson concluded.
