Emergency repairs are due tomorrow for a bridge located in County Kildare.
Kildare County Council (KCC) explained in a statement: "In the interest of public safety, KCC must close the L2010 Prospect / Sherlockstown Common for emergency repairs on the Irish Rail Bridge OBC 33.
"These works will commence on Thursday, May 15, 2025."
KCC clarified that the road to be closed will run from (junction) with Sherlockstown Common Road south to (junction with) Sherlockstown Common Road north.
The closure will last for one week.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
KCC also listed some alternative routes: "Traffic can travel on the Sherlockstown Common Road south and on the opposite side of the bridge, Sherlockstown Road/ Sherlockstown Common Road north."
In addition, KCC announced: "Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána."
"Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained," KCC concluded.
