A review of parking bye-laws for a Municipal District (MD) located in North Kildare was queried by a local representative.
Labour Party Cllr Angela Feeney asked the question at the latest Clane-Maynooth MD meeting, which was held on Friday, May 2 last.
Cllr Feeney specifically asked Kildare County Council (KCC) "if it could inform the members as to when parking bye-law reviews will happen in the MD?"
KCC issued a lengthy response to her query via its report at the meeting.
It read as follows: "A parking bye-law schedule was previously circulated to members.
"The schedule order of bye-law review will commence with the oldest adopted parking bye-law town.
"Where no parking bye-law town is in current existence, these are in order of request by the members.
"Please note that if a town has a proposed or current project which will impact or impede the review, the Transport Department will move onto the next town on the schedule and return to that town for review as soon as possible."

KCC noted that the schedule is as follows: Kildare; Newbridge; Monasterevin; Kilcullen; Celbridge; Leixlip; Kilcock; Castledermot; Athy; Maynooth; Clane; Sallins; Johnstown; Naas; Johnstown Bridge; and Ballymore Eustace.
KCC continued: "Members should also be aware that parking bye-laws are subject to review only where significant changes are proposed and agreed, such as extending parking bye-law times, days, additional locations and expansion of the current parking bye-law area within that town.
"Parking bye-law reviews are also subject to available resources and other projects which may deem to be priority within the county," KCC concluded.
In addition, a representative of KCC who was present at the meeting told Cllr Feeney that he would discuss the matter further with an area engineer.
