Man claims in Kildare court that wife aggressive towards his kids

A man claimed his wife is aggressive towards his children.

He made the allegation during an uncontested application at Naas District Court.

He also told the court the couple are getting a divorce and are also undertaking mediation.

He claimed she is verbally abusive towards him and the children.

He also claimed she hit a teenage child who he then took to a garda station.

Judge Desmond Zaidan said he would reluctantly grant an interim protection order against the woman, who also has a similar order against the man.

The judge said that strictly speaking neither party deserves to be granted an order because these are matters that can be dealt with at a normal family law hearing, rather than via an emergency application.
