Stefan Verdes, 39, whose address was given as 29 Academy Court, Kildare town was prosecuted for careless driving on November 25, 2023, at Oldbridge Park, Sallins.

Sgt Meade said the man was “knocking on the wrong door” and the gardaí were phoned.

She added that the man was at the house for 10 to 15 minutes and “not getting any answer.”

Sgt Meade also said it was dark at the time, around 8.30pm.

The man was seen by a number of people speeding out of the estate.

She said the man has no previous convictions.

Solicitor David Powderly said it was a pity that the defendant did not attend court because the matter "could have been contested.”

Judge Desmond Zaidan imposed a €250 fine for careless driving.
