Before the court was Lukasz Malkowski, whose address was given as 17A Main Street, Celbridge.
The court was told the man was threatening and abusive in the courthouse and he was intoxicated.
He was also charged with possessing a coffee machine on December 18, 2024
The court heard that the man was diagnosed as being bipolar when he was 13 years old.
His partner told the court he had bought wine that day. She said he can go from being calm to being aggressive and does not always take his medication.
The court was also told he had 78 previous convictions, including 13 for theft.
Judge Desmond Zaidan said he had some sympathy for the man, who had originally appeared on an allegation of handling a coffee machine which had been stolen, because bipolar is a serious condition.
He told the man that it is important that he stay in touch with the medical professionals helping him to deal with his condition.
The judge imposed two six months custody terms but added he would apply relaxed conditions to allow him to lodge an appeal.
