Updates relating to the progress of both Carton Avenue and the Town Centre Maynooth Masterplans have been outlined by Kildare County Council (KCC).
The updates were provided to councillors present at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District meeting, which was held on Friday, May 2 last.
Social Democrats Cllr Peter Melrose asked KCC to provide the updates at this meeting, and also enquired about a "preferred timeline".
In response to his queries, KCC issued two separate reports — one for Carton Avenue and another one for the Town Centre Maynooth Masterplan.
Regarding the Carton Avenue update, KCC said: "The preparation of a tender to appoint consultants to prepare a conservation plan and masterplan is due to commence in May and it is hoped to have consultants in place by the end of the Summer.
"It is likely to take 12 months for the development of the masterplan once the consultants are in place."

For the update related to the Town Centre Maynooth Masterplan, KCC had this to say: "We are currently at early stage 1 design phase.
"[A] stakeholder meeting took place on March 27 last and the design team [is] currently compiling information gathered at this event."
Cllr Melrose said that he welcomed the reports, but also urged progress on the two matters as soon as possible.
Aidan Martin, a senior executive engineer with KCC, further said that the preliminary Town Centre Maynooth Masterplan could be ready in "maybe five weeks time".
He also said that the Town Centre Maynooth Masterplan is estimated to take around 12 months to complete.
